More about Pittsburgh Lunch & Superette

After almost 2 years of providing Pioneer Square with delicious affordable food, owner of The Faerie Queene on Yesler Way Una Kim is ready to close the restaurant on January 31, 2017. But have no fear, it will reopen as Pittsburgh Lunch & Superette. The Superette refers to a mini grocery store she has built in the front half of the space and inside retail area behind the front counter. Being a resident of the neighborhood, Kim knows there is a need for residents and workers to be able to buy fresh produce, quality pantry and essential household items. Pittsburgh Lunch is named after the 1960's soup kitchen located in the basement of historic Pioneer Building, it was the last place before becoming the location of Seattle's first fine dining restaurant Brasserie Pittsburgh. (You can still see the original sign, "TABLES FOR LADIES" on the window of the former space on your way to the Underground Tour.) Kim wants to embrace the idea that the neighborhood is evolving and rebuilding much like during the time of the 60's with then newcomers like Doc Maynard and Bill Speidel. She wants to provide to the community and build a Pioneer Square fixture that people know they can rely on to get quality food, service & products at 90 Yesler Way. Look for weekday breakfast from 8am-11am & lunch 11am-6pm and weekend brunch 10am-3pm.
