Pleasant Hill Church

Pleasant Hill is seeking to restore the New Testament Church. We are seeking to be the New Testament Church of Christ and nothing more or less. Here is a brief summary of the doctrine and practice you will find at Pleasant Hill.

The Bible
We take the Bible for what it says as God’s Word (2 Timothy 3:16-17), and we do not interpret it based on man’s understanding of the times. Though we are students of science and history, whenever the Bible contradicts popular ideas in these areas, we trust in God’s consistent understanding rather than man’s, which is continually changing.

Salvation
The need for salvation
Sin separates us from God—Isaiah 59:2
All have sinned—Romans 3:23
The penalty for sin is death—Romans 6:23

God’s part in salvation
Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness—Hebrews 9:22
God loved mankind to offer His Son, Jesus—1 John 4:10
Jesus died in our place—Hebrews 10:10

Man’s part (response) in salvation to receive eternal life
Believe in the Son of God (Jesus Christ)—John 3:16
Confess Jesus as Lord—Romans 10:9-10
Repent (turn) from former life and actions—Acts 2:38
Be immersed (baptized) into Christ for forgiveness of sins—Acts 2:38; 1 Peter 3:21
Follow Jesus faithfully—Revelation 2:10

Worship
Sunday worship at Pleasant Hill is warm, welcoming, and laid-back. We are a small country congregation, usually singing traditional songs, and every week there is preaching, fellowship, the Lord’s Supper, and prayer (Acts 2:42). The primary reason for gathering each week is the same as it was in the New Testament, to share in the Lord’s Supper (Acts 20:7). Smaller group Bible studies take place Wednesday nights. Feel free to come and visit anytime!
