Polly's Country Markets is one of only a few family owned independent grocery chains left in Michigan and the US for that matter. The chain dates back to 1934 when Frank Kennedy opened his first location, later his son F.A. Kennedy expanded, and then his children added more stores. Today five generations are now involved in the family business. Each has contributed both hard work and ideas for growth and improvement of the company. A family atmosphere is central in this company.
Over the years the grocery industry has changed drastically several times and as it has we have also made adjustments while still holding true to our roots of carrying high quality products, providing friendly & polite service, along with having highly competitive prices. Polly's Country Markets are located in Jackson and Chelsea, Michigan while Country Markets are located in Dexter, Brooklyn, and Adrian, Michigan. Our 8 store chain focuses on carrying high quality products at very competitive prices. We also pride ourselves on service and unlike many of our larger competitors we still have in house meat departments where our butchers cut and grind USDA "Choice" meat several times daily.
With consumers' desires changing over time we have also offered more and more organic, natural, and gluten free product lines at a substantially lower price than larger organic/specialty competitors charge.
