More about Port of Everett

The Port of Everett is a natural deep water port located 25 miles north of Seattle and 90 miles south of Vancouver, B.C. on the Puget Sound. The Port is a special purpose district tasked with economic development, and is governed by three Port Commissioners: Troy McClelland, Glen Bachman and Tom Stiger.

The Port of Everett strives to bring jobs, business and tourism to its local and surrounding communities, as well as maintaining the overall environmental health of our waterfront. Port activities support more than 35,000 jobs for the surrounding community. The Port of Everett operates three lines of business: 1) International shipping terminals; 2) Marina facilities; and 3) Property development.

The Port operates eight shipping berths situated on approximately 100 acres of land, a bulk unloading facility, multipurpose warehouse and is served by the BNSF Railroad. The Port handles a wide range of cargoes including breakbulk, container, bulk and other general cargoes. The Port also operates a state-of-the-art facility, known as Mount Baker Terminal. This facility caters to oversized aerospace parts, including the Boeing 747, 767, 777 and soon to be 777X airplane production lines. In 2008, the Port of Everett adopted a new marine terminals master plan that sets the blueprint for future terminal expansion over the next 10 years. The Port is homeport to Naval Station Everett, and the Aircraft Carrier USS Nimitz.

The Port of Everett also operates the largest marina on the West Coast with more than 2,300 recreational boating slips. In 2007, the Port opened a new, 220 slip marina that is adjacent to a planned mixed-use development. The marina accommodates larger yacht class vessels, with slips and end ties up to 143 feet. The Port also provides numerous public access and recreational opportunities for Port District residents and visitor to enjoy.
