Pots on Parade is a public art and tourism initiative organized by the Downtown Development Association of Lincolnton and its volunteer-driven Pot on Parade work group to highlight and promote the history and culture of the pottery making tradition in the Catawba Valley and revive interest in the Catawba Valley Pottery Center (CVPC).
The CVPC is a collaborative partnership between the DDA, the Lincoln County Historical Association and Catawba Valley potters to preserve, document and promote the history and culture of the pottery making tradition in the Catawba Valley region. Lincoln County is at the heart of this region and has a pottery making tradition that spans two centuries.
With Lincolnton's central location in the Catawba Valley and proximity to Charlotte, Hickory, and Gastonia, thousands of folks will have an opportunity to see the public artwork and visit the future CVPC in downtown Lincolnton.
Currently, ten life-sized face jugs are on display along East Main Street in downtown Lincolnton.
