Project Clutch is an alternative education program that provides a different route to students seeking to graduate from high school on time. It is officially referred to as GED Option 2. In other words, it is the 2nd option for earning a high school diploma. The GED refers to being able to use GED testing as one pat of the curriculum. Students can take one or more of the four GED tests to substitute for English, Science, Social Studies or Math. In addition to these core subjects, students must earn credit in Employability, Civics, Health, and Consumer Education. Students chose to rename the program as Project Clutch. According to the students and "Urban Dictionary" clutch means "Exactly what you need, exactly when you need it." or "the crucial moment that comes between winning and losing".
