What is a hope center?
We are a church, a community outreach mission, an after school program, and a school of worship all rolled into one.
We describe it as "many things rolled into one," but the truth is we really feel this is what church is. It is all of these things, not just services on Sunday and Wednesday.
We are a family church with the mission to bring God's presence to the inner-city through prayer, praise, and intercession. We are first a house of prayer. We long to be a safe place for those with a call to intercession to come and pray for the city of Macon here on the hill where Macon was birthed.
We are also a place of refuge for the community, especially her children. We believe the best way to care for this neighborhood is by investing the totality of our lives here. We now have 5 couples and 2 interns living on Church Street. We also have others actively seeking to invest in property and make the move. We believe the hardest issues of a community do not get solved until they become "our" problems.
The concept of a "Green House" is very important to our ministry. In a greenhouse, things grow and flourish inside that would not have much chance outside a protective environment. We are striving to build a culture within our ministry that cultivates that protective environment.
