Richard Eskite Photography

Richard Eskite is an award-winning photographer specializing in food, product and still life photography. Richard has photographed dozens of ads, cookbooks and packaging assignments since 1985, for clients including Boudin Bakery, Dreyer's Ice Cream, Ghirardelli, Kendall Jackson, Safeway and Williams-Sonoma.

Richard's studio is located in the newly popular Dogpatch neighborhood of Potrero Hill, surrounded by innovative artisan food shops, restaurants and taprooms. Just minutes from Downtown, Fisherman’s Wharf and the AT&T Ballpark, the Richard's studio enjoys amazing views of the Bay and the best weather in the City.

Born in Washington DC, Richard Eskite came to San Francisco to work as a staff photographer for Landor Associates, after graduating from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. He founded his studio in 1985 in the American Industrial Center building in San Francisco and discovered his passion for shooting food shortly thereafter.

Richard is a unique craftsman and problem solver, exceptionally talented in modifying props and backgrounds to suit the needs of his clients. Comfortable working in a variety of materials, he has developed devices and gadgets in his studio workshop that have improved the quality and efficiency of his photo shoots and made many a food stylist very happy.

Richard taught photography at the Academy of Art College for many years and can proudly say that many of his protégés have gone on to significant achievement in their own careers.

In and out of the studio, Richard enjoys playing the Mandolin and has become quite comfortable with Irish jigs and reels as part of his daily routine. For a change of scenery, he enjoys the Sierras and walks by the Ocean in Pacifica with his wife, Juliann, and their dog, Sophie.
