Tom expresses a deep fear of horses yet is intrigued by the work of Equine Assisted healing (EAH).
Snickers is in the pen just standing still. She raises her head and looks at Tom doing a “horse-scan”. Who is this person? Am I in danger? She quickly determines that she is not in danger despite Tom’s very hesitant behavior. And returns to foraging for scraps of something to eat.

It is exactly this honest behavior that sends a message to the horse. Had Tom acted with bravado the horse may have responded differently exhibiting signs of “Something is not right here!” The “something’s not right” would be acting one way while feeling another.

WHY HOIRSES?
Horses are animals of prey only. They are predator to none. As a result, their entire existence is about survival. This makes them highly alert on levels that others are not aware of. They respond to subtle changes – noises, movements as well as energetically what is going on in the beings around them, including YOU. Finely tuned energy within then horse allows them to survive. Horses’ sense when we are not being honest, with others, or they and ourselves respond. Every instinct in a horse is fine-tuned.
Horses are mirrors for us. They reflect what is going on emotionally and even spiritually.
Through their unique ways they teach us how to be in relationship with yourself and others. Imagine how this work will help you in your professional and personal relationships and successes.
This level of honesty and attunement allows the horse to be a mirror to those around them. Horses are teachers of self-awareness.
