In the sweltering hot summer of 1984, Bob Tumolo, a former Philadelphia firefighter started selling Italian Ice (also known as Water Ice) from a small porch window in Bensalem, PA. He named his business after his wife, Rita!

Over 30 years later, we stay true to the standards that made Rita’s a household name on the East Coast – our Italian Ice is still made fresh daily, still refreshing, still delicious, and still fun and the award-winning Old-Fashioned Frozen Custard was voted #1 in the United States.
