Riverview High School Band Program

Blue Coat Regiment Marching Band:
When Riverview High School opened its doors in 1998 the marching band was known as the Shark Attack Band; before the beginning of the 2012 marching season the band's students voted to change the name to match their new competitive and driven attitude, and the Blue Coat Regiment was born.

The marching band at Riverview High School, in both its current form and as the Shark Attack Band, is an award-winning group with many successes – from numerous victories at FMBC events, superior ratings at FBA Marching MPA and hosting marching events on an annual basis.

Blue Radiance Color Guard:
Blue Radiance is a member of the Florida Federation of Colorguards Circuit (FFCC), and competes as the main visual component of the Blue Coat Regiment in the fall marching season before moving on to their own indoor season in the spring semester.

During the 2015 season the team placed first in every regional they attended and their season culminated at the FFCC Championships in Daytona Beach where the team took home silver medals after placing second in the Class AA Knights Division. The team’s placement at Championships coupled with their amazing record for the season prompted FFCC to promote the team to Class A at the conclusion of the season.

Concert Band and Wind Ensemble:
All wind and percussion players participate in either the Concert Band (intermediate group) or the Wind Ensemble (advanced group), and sometimes both. Percussion players all work together in our Percussion Ensemble to play contemporary and challenging pieces. The Concert Bands and Wind Ensembles of Riverview High School have consistently been rated Excellent and Superior groups at FBA District Concert MPA.
