Welcome and thank you for checking out my page. My name is Ruthie Lay, I have been doing hair professionally for 10 years. I specialize in hair color and use many different techniques to personalize the color for each guest that sits in my chair. I do free consultations, please contact me ahead of time to avoid waiting. I encourage clients to bring photos, Pinterest, etc. However, I am here to help the client find the look that suits them best. I give my opinions, make suggestions, answer questions and together the guest and I find their signature look and work out a plan to achieve it.

I attended Scientific Beauty Academy in Huntsville. I am proud to say that I attended one of the last remaining old fashioned beauty schools. As a matter of fact I loved that look so much that I made Five Points Beauty Salon my home. I love all things Mid Century, especially kitchy and campy things. I try to bring a little pinup style into my day to day life. I have participated in a few pinup and/or tattoo pageants as Miss Ivana Cupcake, like I want a cupcake, cute huh? I won Miss Modified Alabama in 2012 and
I love pinup photography, fashion, movies, and of course hair and makeup. I believe that any woman can be a pinup!
In 2015 I helped create and host the Miss Dixie Danger pageant with Mr. Chad Zolynsky that took place during his music festival, The Dixie Danger Fest.
