Sacred Mountain Sanctuary

Sacred Mountain Sanctuary is comprised of an educational program for children and adults, a retreat/hermitage facility, biodynamic educational farm, and a neighboring residential community.

Sacred Mountain Sanctuary is nestled on pristine mountain land surrounded by Pisgah National Forest. The property encompasses two mountain coves and neighbors a 3600 ft elevated mountain bald with breathtaking views of Mount Pisgah and the surrounding area. The coves are abundant with pristine water and important native plant species. Much of the property is blessed with a century-old mixed deciduous forest, making it an important species repository of the Southern Appalachian biome.

Conveniently located only 13 miles from Asheville, our Sanctuary is surrounded by Pisgah National forest, and hundreds of acres of conserved land.

Our mission is to provide an environment and immersive experiences that will awaken the heart to the sacred nature of all living things. As an organization and community, our intentions and actions are guided by the principles of interdependent autonomy present in all living systems, and will change and grow with the evolution of the individual and the environment.

Sacred Mountain Sanctuary hermitage, workshops, camps and educational programs will invite participants of all ages to share an environment that provides an intimate and direct experience of nature, which will then lead them to a deeper relationship with the divine intelligence of all life. It is our hope that each individual who experiences Sacred Mountain Sanctuary will take with them a sense of wonder that will permeate everyday life and preserve an awareness of our profound inter-dependency.
