Saint Clare of Assisi Parish was established in 2000. It is a vibrant, fast growing, Roman Catholic Parish Community that is striving to serve the Lord with gladness, finding its inspiration in the Sacred Scriptures, in the Catholic Tradition and Doctrine. Our patron saint, St. Clare of Assisi abandoned her family's wealth and prestige to adopt poverty as the way to be united to Christ and to serve others. At 18 years old, she ran away from home to start a life consecrated to Christ in the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience. She dedicated herself to prayer and contemplation and inspired many followers to enter religious life. The nuns were first called the Poor Ladies until after her death in 153 when they eventually took the name Poor Clares.
