VISION:

SSF works for peace, locally, regionally and globally, by addressing the root causes of misunderstanding, fear and violence through research, education, sustained dialogue at the grass roots level, and the dissemination of balanced thoughtful information emphasizing the common ground that unites peoples, cultures, civilizations and religions.

MISSION:

SSF designs and implements societal cross-cultural, interfaith and development-focused research, reflection, dialogue and education at grass roots and leadership levels via the media and by using state-of-the-art technology and the internet. SSF emphasizes unity rather than division, inclusion rather than exclusion, and the patient search for common ground among all peoples.

GOALS:

• SSF works to raise public awareness and understanding on non-Western cultures (African, Middle Eastern, Asian) in the U.S. and the West and of American and Western cultures in the non-Western World through research, educational forums, conferences, public policy debates and civil society initiatives.

• SSF advocates and contributes to the emergence of a 21st century vibrant and an internationalist political and developmental agenda of societal renewal that facilitates a more enlightened consensus on local, national, regional and international policies for justice, peace, security, dignity and prosperity for all.

• SSF designs and implements creative public diplomacy programs in partnership with political, intellectual, artistic, civil society and professional organizations to achieve these goals, and make the World a safer, and a more livable and healthier planet.

SSF, is a Washington, DC –based non-partisan, non-profit, tax-exempt 501 (C) 3 think tank/NGO dedicated to promoting a genuine universal culture of justice, peace, dignity, democracy, human and cultural rights for all in the 21st century.

Initially incorporated in Paris in 1985, SSF and its founder moved to Washington in 1996 where he became a citizen and incorporated it in 2002. Since 2005 it has offices in Nairobi, Kenya, and Khartoum, Sudan.725
