More about Salvation Army Manchester NH

Comprehensive Assistance
People come to us in need all year long. Whether for food, clothing, furnishings, medications, rent or more, our approach is to get to the root of the problem, identify helpful solutions and support individuals to address the cause of their need, thereby empowering them to work towards hopeful and purposeful lives.

Seasonal Assistance
From November 1st—January 1st more than 10,000 people in greater Manchester receive Thanksgiving and Christmas meals, warm clothing, Christmas toys, nursing home visits, senior meals and more through the care of The Salvation Army and its many volunteers.

Spiritual Development
The Salvation Army recognizes the vital importance of personal faith in this day of constant and uncertain change. We offer Bible studies and Sunday Worship that explore the truth of God’s Word. There are youth and adult fellowships that serve to develop strong Christian Character.

Youth Center
The Youth Center serves children and teens, ages 6 to 17 years, who are enrolled in our various after school and evening programs and activities. Central to these programs is the Kids’ Café. Kids’ Café opened in 1994 serving a handful of meals 2 nights a week. We now operate four nights a week for children, and Friday and Saturday nights for teens; serving over 100 young people each night. Daily activities include: afterschool tutoring, club activities, the dinner meal, volleyball, dodge ball, soccer, basketball, computer lab, game room, table games, the Art Zone and more! Once a week, kids can participate in a dance class and music instruction. The Youth Center is a place where children and teens can learn and grow under the watchful care of committed staff and volunteers.

Senior Center
Two days a week, we offer adults 60 and older an exercise class and the opportunity to socialize and keep active through games and programs.

Friday & Saturday Teen Nights
The Salvation Army operates a Friday teen night drop-in center for teens 13-17. We also offer a Saturday night drop-in center sponsored by the Weed & Seed Program. Both nights provide a safe haven for teens to hang out, enjoy the gym, computer lab, PS3, XBox games and more!

Camp Sebago
Camp Sebago has enriched the lives of thousands of Salvation Army kids from Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont since its opening in 1958. The picturesque camp in Standish, Maine, provides a rich summer experience each year for 75 children from greater Manchester who would not otherwise have the opportunity to enjoy the pleasures of residential camp life —all at little or no cost.

Summer Day Camp
The Salvation Army also offers a Summer Day Camp for children ages 7-16 from late June to August, for little or no cost. The children go on field trips, swim in local pools, NH lakes and the Atlantic, participate in fun clubs and learn that God loves them and has awesome plans for their lives!
