Welcome to Samuel Lutheran Church, a congregation of the North/West Lower Michigan Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA). Founded in 1875 by immigrants from Sweden and Finland, Samuel has been a presence in downtown Muskegon for over 130 years, ministering to people in need, proclaiming the Gospel of Christ.
As Lutherans we worship according to traditional forms passed down to us for nearly 1700 years, employing a variety of musical styles and language. This congregation has sought to reach out to the community putting faith into action through love, and responds to new opportunities as God makes them known.
