STARTING WITH A COACH

If personal, professional, one on one coaching is in the plan for you, we always want to get a baseline of where you are at. The process includes a full swim, bike and run evaluation. We will jump in the pool with you, grab some above and below water video and prescribe the next steps to improving your stroke.

This process includes a full swim, bike and run evaluation. We will jump in the pool with you, grab some above and below water video and prescribe the next steps to improving your stroke.

The bike evaluation includes a bike fit and pedal stroke technique coaching. Having a bike that fits you properly will unlock the ability to build your training on a foundation of sound technique. A properly fitting bike is prerequisite to proper muscle recruitment, injury-free training, continued growth and enjoyment of your cycling experience. Athletes may be provided homework consisting of corrective exercises and drills after this session. Whether you are a cyclist or a triathlete, this evaluation is an important key to a successful season.

The running evaluation involved assessment of your gait and is crucial for any sport. Runners and triathlete will benefit from improved muscle balance, an efficient cadence, and proper form and movement patterns. Running is the most load bearing of the disciplines and therefore the most demanding on the body. Evaluation of your running gait is crucial for performance and injury prevention.
Once you have completed your sport specific evaluations, our coaches will begin tailoring an individualized plan created precisely for your unique needs. Above and beyond the standard year-at-a-glance plan for the season, you will also be provided with a plan that will be tailored week-by-week. Flexibility and adaptation are important to developing the right plan for you. We use an online training system called Training Peaks. You will be able to see your workouts weekly, download, print schedules, upload data and keep regular tracking of all you do. Workouts are created over the weekend after you have completed your training week, allowing your coach to evaluate what you accomplishments and enabling continual adaptation each successive week of training. You have regular communication with your coach as needed via email and phone.

SBR offers three levels of coaching. Coaching Standard involves your Annual Training Plan, weekly training schedule and open communication with your coach. Expand your coaching relationship to Coaching Deluxe. The Deluxe level raises the bar to include race strategy, training/racing nutrition strategy, pre/post event meetings and monthly face-to-face meetings. Want it all? SBR offers Coaching Unlimited. All three levels of coaching are available for cyclist, runners and triathletes. Cyclist can also benefit from the option to include Coaching With Power. Whatever your need, we have a plan for you.
