Hey Everyone,

Thank you for visiting my Page and further more wanting to learn a little bit about me.

My name is Sean Hood and I live in a little city called Barre, Vermont. And as you may be able to tell at this point I am an aspiring portrait photographer. I have been shooting portraits for about two years and am loving every minute of it.

I have always loved film and photos, since my parents bought me my first DSLR when I was 8 years old. This is, of course, right after my sister got her first camera and I might have been a little jealous. Throughout high school I would occasionally make videos of friends of mine going skiing, playing soccer, or cliff jumping at the granite quarries.

But, it wasn't until my senior year of high school, when I got my senior pictures taken, when I really started to get involved with all the technicalities of the camera.

The summer after my senior year, I learned very quickly that a job cleaning used campers was not for me. Trust me, my parents were not least bit thrilled, especially because this was the best paying job I'd ever had. And demanded I get another job, when I told them that I quit. Thankfully, my dad's best friend, Jay Kennedy, came to the rescue. Mr. Jay Kennedy has been in the wedding/portrait photography 40+ years and is one of the most talented wedding photographers in all of New England. He took me under his wing and continues to teach me what he knows about portraits. Jay gave me a position working with him at weddings as an assistant and a second shooter. From there I began shooting for the Colchester Sun and Essex Reporter, that summer. But, honestly, I really have to thank the camper place, because who knows what I'd be doing otherwise.

Nowadays you'll still spot me working side by side with Mr. Kennedy. But, I do offer my own time to do portraits when I have openings. Other than that, you'll find me serving up the best pizza and beer at Positive Pie in Barre, and going to school full time at CCV in Montpelier. And most importantly skiing. Yes, I'm a busy guy.
