The Seward Park Branch opened its doors on November 11, 1909, and the building currently houses adult, reference, young adult and children’s collections on its ground and upper floors, and an Adult Literacy Center and community room on its lower level. The branch reopened in 2004 after restoration work to its exterior and interior. In its early days, the Seward Park served a primarily immigrant Jewish population, but now serves a diverse population reflecting New York City’s ever-changing demographics.
