Simpson is a village in Pitt County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 416 at the 2010 census. The racial makeup of the village was 56.03% White, 42.46% African American, 0.65% Native American, and 0.86% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 2.80% of the population.There were 189 households out of which 26.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.3% were married couples living together, 14.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.2% were non-families. 28.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 14.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.46 and the average family size was 3.01.
