SOCC Preschool and Kindergarten

Our Students
The minimum age for our preschool is 3 years old before January 1. We have a young 3′s class for this age, and children do not have to be potty-trained. The regular preschool class enrollment age is 3 before August 1. Children in this class must be potty trained. Children will be placed in classes according to age.

Daily Schedule
Preschool Classes begin at 9:00am and end at 11:55am. Our very popular Lunch Bunch is offered on a space available basis from 12:00pm-1:00pm Monday-Thursday. We encourage families to buy passes for a discount and to ensure availability. Children bring a sack lunch and have extended activity time.

Kindergarten classes meet Monday-Friday from 9:00am-1:00pm.

A Typical Day
Our focus is to embrace each child where they are and to provide materials and experiences for all children to develop. We are excited to offer a Christian curriculum where we can use daily activities as teaching moments to help each child grow spiritually, academically, and socially.

Arrival and opening: Children are greeted by their teachers and begin by engaging in creative processes. They transition into morning opening consisting of prayer time, pledges to the flags, and introduction of the letter, number and shape of the week.
Circle Time: In addition to the opening, this time includes: Bible stories, songs, memory verses, calendar time, weather, show n tell and our star of the week. Once a month, we enjoy chapel time with guest speakers. Families are always welcome to join us in chapel!
Readiness/Craft Time: This small group time focuses on letter, number and shape reinforcements. The children will begin to work on reading and writing skills. It is also a time for drawing, painting, cutting, gluing, creating, and constructing with numerous kinds of craft materials.
Snack Time: We begin our snack time each day with prayer. The children enjoy a healthy snack and a cup of water as they interact with their classmates.
Physical Fitness Time: Daily outdoor and/or gym play is an essential part of our preschool morning.
Learning Centers: This is supervised play time providing opportunities for dramatic play, building, art explorations, and social interaction.
Special Activities
In addition to our regular daily activities, we also try to include many special celebrations throughout the year. We will have classroom parties for Pumpkin Day, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, and Easter. We have a Thanksgiving Feast, Pajama Day, Super Bowl Day, and Dr. Seuss Week.

We also provide 3 field trips for each class away from the school as well as having many special guests come visit us here. This year we had a policeman, dental hygienist, Kasey – fire safety dogs, Latest Glaze – pottery store, and a professional artist. These will vary from year to year.

Class Details
Classes do not exceed 16 children and operate with a 1:8 teacher/student ratio in a full class.

Four Day – combined class of M/W and T/TH

Kindergarten Readiness – designed for 4/5 years old
Two Day – T/TH

Five Day – M – F

Kindergarten – Half day from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
(Children should be 5 by August 1)
Five Day – M-F

Our School Year
We operate from August to May. In the event of a MCCSC two-hour delay, class will be in session from 10:30 am –11:55 am.

Our Tuition
Two Day - $110 per month or $990.00 for the year
Three Day – $165 per month or $1485 for the year
Four Day - $220 per month or $1980 for the year
Five Day – $260 per month or $2340 for the year
Lunch Bunch – $5 per day
Kindergarten – $280 per month or $2520 for the year – (9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.)
The one time $100 deposit/activity fee helps defray the costs of crafts, picture development, t-shirts and other activities throughout the year. Students who must withdraw before July 1 will be refunded half of the deposit fee.
