Sonora is a home rule-class city in Hardin County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 350 at the 2000 census. The racial makeup of the city was 94.86% White, 2.86% African American, 0.29% Native American, 0.29% Asian, and 1.71% from two or more races.There were 138 households out of which 31.9% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.6% were married couples living together, 10.1% had a female householder with no husband present, and 37.7% were non-families. 32.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 18.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.51 and the average family size was 3.22.
