Springfield Jazz & Roots Festival

The Springfield Jazz & Roots Festival celebrates the emergence of Springfield’s arts and culture district downtown, and promotes an arts driven, community oriented and sustainable revitalization of the City.

This festival will build upon the precedent set by the incredible John Osborne, organizer of Hoop City Jazz & Arts Festival, which drew 20,000 people to Court Square over the course of a weekend in 2011. The Springfield Jazz & Roots Festival seeks to draw a similarly sized audience from throughout the Pioneer Valley and the New England region to downtown Springfield. This seminal event for Springfield’s newly recognized Cultural District will present a festive weekend featuring locally and internationally acclaimed musical artists, as well as spotlighting local youth performing arts groups, visual artists/ artisans, and a variety of ethnic cuisines and local food producers.

The Springfield Jazz & Roots Festival will bring many people to the downtown area for an uplifting and enriching experience; exposing the public to what Springfield has to offer. As the city continues to rebuild after the damage inflicted by the tornado in 2011, and strives to overcome chronic social and economic hurdles, we want to provide a moment to celebrate what is special about Springfield and recognize the spirit of creativity, inclusion, opportunity, and sustainability paving the way towards a brighter future.
