Welcome to Saint Barbara’s

I am delighted you are interested in our parish. This page will give you a glimpse of who we are and what we are about. The people of Saint Barbara pray that with God’s help our parish may offer you a place of spiritual, intellectual and emotional refreshment.

At St. Barbara’s, you will find a wide variety of people at different stages in their Christian pilgrimage. We are old and young. Some are life-long Catholics, while others have only recently come into the Church. Some were born and raised in Brookfield, while others have emigrated here from foreign lands. Although we are a diverse congregation, together we share a common call to celebrate God’s presence in our world.

Sunday Mass is at the center of our identity as a Catholic Church. Through our weekly celebration of Word and Sacrament, we find the motivation and encouragement we need to serve God throughout the week. Our worship inspires us to develop our spiritual life together. Our parish offers various opportunities for people to gather and pray, to retreat and discern, and to listen and learn. Out of our worship comes the call to service. We find ourselves encouraged to use our gifts and skills to serve our community, both within the parish and outside it. Our parish seeks to serve those in need through various ministries to the poor, the sick and the homebound in our community.

Our service awakens us to truth of God in the world. As a parish community, gathered in worship and called to service, we seek to deepen our knowledge of God. Our parish offers various programs to help men, women and children learn more about God and our Catholic faith.

At the heart of our faith is Communion. As we come together to WORSHIP, to SERVE, to FORM and to EDUCATE, we discover our call to be united as a COMMUNITY. Saint Barbara’s Church unites our community in fellowship. We accompany each other on life’s journey. We share with one another the joys and the sorrows that make up our life.
