St. John Lutheran Church

The mission statement of St. John Lutheran Church is to share the love of Jesus Christ and grow in Christian fellowship through preaching, teaching, witnessing, and serving the people of Lawton, Fort Sill, and Southwest Oklahoma. The mission given by Christ to His Church in the last chapter of Matthew was to, "go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you" (Matthew 28:19-20).

St. John Lutheran Church is a community of baptized Christians bound together in the forgiveness which God has provided all people through His Son. We exist to announce this gift of forgiveness to individuals of all nations and cultures through the preaching and teaching of God's Word and the administration of the Sacraments. St. John instructs young and old according to the confessional standard of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, and reaches out through forgiving relationships, working to connect people through caring friendships. St. John serves as shepherds of the sheep, seekers of the lost, friends of sinners, and caregivers to the poor, lonely and broken-hearted. It is a family which cares for all people and reaches out to witness to the love and forgiveness found in Jesus Christ.
