More about Studio Espavo

Nia

Nia is a non-impact aerobic fitness practice created by Debbie Rosas and Carlos Rosas in the early 1980's. Today, Nia Technique is practiced worldwide. Each 60 minute Nia class has been carefully and professionally designed to get you moving in a FUN and Joyful way. The simple, easy-to-do moves are inspired by the dance arts, healing arts and martial arts. Practiced weekly you will soon notice improvements in flexibility, agility, mobility, balance, and strength. Healing benefits of Nia practice are many and extend to every realm of your being – body, mind, spirit and emotions. No experience is necessary because with Nia you are always encouraged to dance your body's way. Nia is practiced barefoot.

Hatha Yoga

Certainly the most practiced form of yoga in the United States, the discipline of hatha yoga was initially developed as a vehicle for meditation. Composed of the physical aspects of yoga (mainly asana, pranayama, and the cleansing exercises known as shat karma), hatha yoga purifies and prepares the body, especially the nervous system, for stillness. It creates the physical strength and stamina that allows the mind to remain calm, making meditation possible. Requiring discipline and effort, a hatha yoga practice brings awareness and balance and can be a powerful tool for self-transformation.

Restorative Flow Yoga

Restorative flow is a luxurious practice that encourages students to slow down and notice the subtle changes that occur within and offer a deep nourishing experience which activates the body’s natural healing abilities. In Restorative Flow, the postures are done one after the other in gentle flowing movements. If you have limited range of motion or experience illnesses such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome or arthritis, desire to deepen your contemplative practice, or if you just want to deeply relax, this style of yoga is for you. Restorative flow can help to relieve stress, increase flexibility, balance, personal awareness, and offer an overall sense of well-being. Restorative Flow yoga meets you where you are, so it is appropriate for all ages, levels of fitness and physical ability. Please join us for a nourishing and revitalizing experience.

Gentle, Restorative, Supported Yoga

This is a deeply restorative practice where we pull out all the props, construct supports and settle in, allowing a generous amount of time to sink into each posture, inviting a much needed opportunity to open and restore.

Yoga Target Class

Target Class provides an opportunity to drill down into the specifics of a particular group of postures (asanas), i.e., twists, standing postures, balancing postures, backbends, forward bends, etc., to explore their benefits to our whole being on a deeper level.

Multi-Level Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Each class will be an inspirational multi-level vinyasa flow sprinkled with restorative yoga to nourish body, mind, soul and spirit.
