Swing Central Jazz

Each year, twelve of the nation's top high school jazz bands are selected to travel to Savannah, Georgia for a three-day workshop and competition during the Savannah Music Festival. Pianist/composer/educator Marcus Roberts leads a clinician team of jazz educators including Wycliffe Gordon, Jason Marsalis, Jim Ketch (Associate Director), Rodney Whitaker, and Ron Westray in a collective approach to big band jazz instruction. The competition culminates in our annual "Swing Central Jazz Finale," featuring the top three finalist bands in a concert for Savannah Music Festival audiences.

SCJ 2017 will take place from March 29-31.
