Tap 79 Gastropub & Craft Beer Bar set to open in Miami’s MIMO district, on 79th St east of Biscayne Blvd
After 8 years of success in the Miami Arts District with bin 18, restaurateur and Chef Alfredo Patino, expands his epicurean gastronomy with elegant pub grub.
Tap 79 will offer a robust craft beer selection with 8 beers on draft including Leffe, Bell’s Two Hearted Ale, Fat Tire and will offer an additional 22 beers by the bottle of mostly microbrews from USA and Belgium.
The menu will range from small bites to entrees, with just enough variety to suit the dining needs for any occasion. Features on the menu include house cured beef jerky, crispy mango habanero wings, truffle mac & cheese topped with chicharron shavings, house made Tap 79 burger, short ribs served over creamy polenta and a fresh catch of the day.
With a bar that seats up to 25 people, a private dining area and outdoor seating, the restaurant is fit for any dining occasion. The idea is to create a place for those who live in the area to grab a beer and bite to eat after work, or dine with a group of friends on a Saturday night.
Chef Alfredo Patino has a vested interest in bringing good food to the area as he lives nearby and says, “The concept was created after driving home on 79th street many nights and not having a place to stop for a good beer and bite to eat. I always felt there was a culinary void in the area and with development of the Mimo and 79th street area on the horizon I felt I wanted to be involved in revitalizing the area. I opened bin 18 when the performing arts district was merely nothing but an area with little development and a bad reputation for crime. I saw the potential in what the area could offer and knew there were plans to develop, 8 years later the area has completely changed and is now a very desirable location. I see the same vision for the 79th street causeway.”
Tap 79 will open Sunday April 20th, for a soft opening with friends and family and will open to the public Monday April 21st. There is ample parking adjacent to the restaurant and hours are: Monday through Friday, 4 pm to 11 pm and Saturdays and Sundays Noon to 11 pm.
