Team JBM Jiu Jitsu - Wilmington, NC

Team JBM Jiu Jitsu - Wilmington, NC opens it's doors in January 2014 as the first affiliate school of New Jersey's JBM Brazilian Jitsu Academy led by Professor Brian McPherson. McPherson is a 1st Degree Blackbelt under UFC veteran Ricardo Almeida and vale tudo legend Master Renzo Gracie. Team JBM in Wilmington is the child of JBM Purple Belt and Army Combatives Instructor Matt Brown.

Instructor Matt Brown began his grappling career in 1999 as a part of his high school wrestling career. Soon after he began studying Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under Professor Brian McPherson at the original JBM Academy in Burlington, NJ.

Eventually Brown started his life in the military as part of the US Army. In the Army Brown was a part of the Modern Army Combatives program where he eventually became an instructor in addition to being an Airborne rigger.

Since his honorable discharge from America's elite fighting force, Brown has decided to share his knowledge and love of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and Combatives by opening his very own JBM affiliate in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Doors are expected to officially open January 2014.
