OLD CATHOLIC CHURCH OF THE AMERICAS

The Old Catholic Church of the Americas is a catholic communion that is separate from the Roman Catholic Church and is not governed by the Pope. Our Synod of Bishops governs both the sacred and temporal affairs of the Church with principles borrowed from the Old Catholic Tradition.

We are patterned after the Union of Utrecht churches, and each diocese, ministry, or religious order admitted to the Synod remains autonomous except in matters undertaken by the Synod while sitting in Council.

We trust when you explore us you will find a warm and friendly church home devoted to catholic spirituality and the love of God regardless of who you are, your former faith tradition, or where you come from in life.

The Diocese of the Uniformed Services has a worldwide mission and jurisdiction over chaplains serving the military, veterans, and civilian uniformed services. For administrative purposes this diocese is merged for the time being with the Missionary Diocese of the Midwest.

The Old Catholic Church is a denomination within the universal Christian Church, with valid apostolic succession through the lines of the Roman Catholic and Orthodox Catholic Church, but not under either jurisdiction.

We share with all Christians the belief that Jesus is the Son of God and Liberator of humanity.

We are united with others through the rebirth of Baptism and the Communion of the Eucharist.

We are like other churches in most ways, but there are some important differences too.

We do not create issues that divide, separate, or segregate anyone or anybody, for it was Christ who said, "Whosoever will may come."
