Have you heard sayings like, "You should be a comedian!", or "Gurrrrl, youse so funny!", or “You should try stand up comedy!" ...you’re in the right place! Whether you have experience or you're just starting, The Academy of Funny offers a class for you in a safe and supportive comedic enviorment. Come find your funny!


INTRO STAND UP COMEDY:

The first class of the stand up program. Students are introduced to the fundamentals of stand up comedy in a safe and supportive environment. In this class you'll learn to find your comedic voice from our unique exercises. You'll leave this class with an original 5 minute set. No pressure to preform, each student has the opportunity to audition for the Graduation Show at LA's hottest comedy clubs.

This class can be repeated.

ADVANCED STAND UP COMEDY:

The advanced stand up comedy class continues to finalize your own comedic voice. You will build on the foundation you learned in INTRO with advanced theory and stand up techniques. Students will perform an open mic and the Graduation show at one of LA's hottest comedy clubs.


Number of class sessions: 4 (1 Open Mic/1 Show)

Length of each class session: 2 hours

Price: $300

Prerequisite: Instructor Approval


MATERIALS NEEDED:
Notebook, pen or pencil, any existing comedy material, a recording device (either video or audio) and most important an open mind! Remember, nobody is judging you. Just be open, honest and your silly unique self! Lastly, be ready to have fun!
