The Calling Church

The Calling is a non-denominational church located in Pasadena, California. Pastor's Michael and Corinne Alfaro planted this church, out of a calling from God. The young couple was inspired by an Italian painting, called "The Calling of St. Matthew", where Jesus is pointing directly at Matthew, calling him to follow him; to live for something much greater. Matthew however was not well liked, he was a tax collector; and in the painting he seems shocked that Jesus would choose someone like him. The church is called The Calling, because we believe Jesus calls everyone, no matter what they have done. He has a special and unique purpose for all people, and nothing any individual has done will change his love or calling for that person's life. The Calling Church exists to inspire this generation to follow and live out the calling God has placed on their life.
