The Emerald Thread

Every person is made up of stories. Good ones, bad ones; we've got lots of them.
Coffee- those beans, they have their story. They are rich in both their origins and their flavor, and there's just something about a good cup of coffee that brings out conversation. And songs... well, that's easy. They are simply stories set to notes.
When we combine these three things, we have the potential to do much good.

The emerald has been known to represent restoration and healing. A thread, when used gently and properly, brings two pieces together as one. It being ever so fragile, weaves its way in and out of those pieces and eventually creates unity.

The mission of The Emerald Thread is to bring healing and restoration through the gathering of stories: people, coffee and songs. We want to create an environment where people can be themselves, open up to one another, and perhaps gain new perspective and understanding through the conversations they partake in and the songs they hear. In a world where people are increasingly growing apart from one another, we want to be intentional about community and experiencing something together. A few hours where we turn our technology off and open up our eyes to what's in front of us, real moments that Instagram and Facebook simply cannot preserve.

Our goal for 2014 is to have one gathering a month, which will be held at the Downtown Arts Center in the historic Downtown Lake City, Florida.
