What is The Imperial ?

The Imperial picks up right where the legendary Stone Groove left off when the Vagabond closed its doors. With a slight upgrade, that hard wave of energy can be found every Saturday night. Our new location will serve as a training ground for our young artistic metropolis. The Imperial is an open mic night infused with live music custom made for the creative spirit and underground aficionado's. Our aim is to build a stable home for self expression in Miami. It's time for the rogues and vagabonds to become the kings & queens that they know they are.


It fills a live-music-scene gap and builds a stable home for artistic expression in Miami. Marcus Blake, who is also a poet, hosts The Imperial. Blake is an original artist contributing to the avant-garde identity of the growing Downtown art scene.

THE 3rd PARTY, the out-of-the-box jazz-fused band that sets the tone for the night, backs him. They serve as a musical backdrop for the Miami performance artists, poets, singers, improv artists, and musicians who make up the community that is Stone Groove. Between performances, our DJs play an eclectic blend of jazz, soul, and funk that creates the ambiance for the evening.

Hipsters and artists generate an electric energy as both spectators and performers for the night making The Imperial one of Miami’s strongest social networking music scenes.
