More about The National Historic Roman Catholic Church of St. Nicholas of Tolentine

St. Nicholas of Tolentine is the oldest Catholic Church on Absecon Island. The current church was finished in 1905 and is located at 1409 Pacific Ave. in Atlantic City, NJ. St. Nicholas is a gorgeous and gigantic church that has been an icon of the city for over a century. St. Nicholas is one of the most ornate structures in the city with gorgeous stained glass, marble statues, mosaics, and a 1916 Moller pipe organ (Opus 2138) which was recently rebuilt.

St. Nicholas of Tolentine has under 300 registered individuals and continues to serve the community through the generosity of its many visitors. The historic church is currently undergoing various interior restorations now that the exterior restoration is complete. Interior restorations include a new heating system, a new air conditioning system, restoring the stained glass windows, restoring the mosaics, repainting, replacing the floor, rewiring the entire church (still has original electrical wiring from 1905), installing a new lighting system, replacing the failing sound system, and completely restoring the historic pipe organ.
If you would like to donate to the restoration of the church, please send your donation to 1409 Pacific Avenue Atlantic City, NJ 08401-8092 Attn. Monsignor William A. Hodge.
