Noodle carts originated in Hong Kong in the 1960’s. The poor working class would often patronize these carts for cheap meals. Spreading all throughout Hong Kong and Macao, these carts carried different types of noodles and toppings. As the carts pushed around the city, customers could pick what they wanted to eat and have a quick and inexpensive meal.
However, as the living and food hygiene standards evolved as the years went by, the noodle carts were slowly being pushed into the past. Many carts evolved into restaurants in public areas and train stations such as the Hong Kong Mass Transit Railway system. Take a trip back and enjoy a distinctly Hong Kong style noodle!
