The Old Blanco County Courthouse is a National Historic Landmark and a living image of Texas' Golden Age of courthouses. Built in 1885 to house the county seat of Blanco County, Texas, her purpose was denied when in 1890 the county seat moved to Johnson City. Today the Grand Old Lady stands as an outstanding example of small town spirit and true grit. Efforts are ongoing to restore her to the elegance of her Second Empire style and sustain her roll in the life of the community.
