The Southern Rose Boutique

I've been crafting and creating things for as long as I can remember. It's in my blood. My grandmother was a creative spirit who could make anything magical. My mother is still impressing people with all of her craftiness.

Several years ago through Etsy and blogging, I discovered a whole new entrepreneurial world with various crafting outlets. I dabbled here, I played around there, but I never got especially serious with anything. I was simply enjoying the experience and honing my craft. All along, I was setting myself up for this.

It's been my dream for many years to own my very own business. After I was laid off in June 2015, my husband and I decided it was the perfect time for me to pursue that dream. And so, The Southern Rose (the physical location) opened its doors in July 2015. It's a dream to be able to set my own hours, spend time with my children, and still be able to contribute financially to help support our family of 5. It's a dream to be able to creatively express myself, create things with my own hands, and turn junk or rustic pieces into something beautiful. I need to create. It gives me such joy and I yearn to share that joy with others by creating beautiful and useful things to make their house a home.

I also have a passion for fashion! I worked in retail stores in college and I just LOVED working with clothing. And of course, I love going shopping too. I'm proud to have a wonderful collection of clothing at fantastic prices.

Put all of that together and I'm just a small town girl, living her dream!
