• Mixed File – The credit reporting agency (Experian, Transunion, Equifax) merges the consumer’s credit file with those of another person resulting in a “mixed file.”
• Identity Theft – A credit report shows accounts and inquiries that the consumer does not recognize. This can be a sign of someone fraudulently obtaining and using a consumer’s private identifying information such as a social security number or credit card number.
