Tiger's Store and Chinquapin's Ice Cream and Soda Bar

Tiger's Department Store and Chinquapin's, located in the heart of downtown Hayesville, NC offer a wide array of modern shopping choices while allowing you step back in time the moment you walk inside.

Chinquapin's, which got it's start as a pharmacy in the 1940's is most known for it's original soda fountain that is still in operation. Come in for a hand mixed cherry coke, chocolate malt or vanilla soda. Delicious coffees and Mayfield Ice Cream are also available to suit your taste buds! While enjoying your treat, browse the many gift items available including a wide array of books for all ages, Willow Tree Angels, Swan Creek Candles, Himalayan Candles, soaps and body products, Melissa and Doug Toys, greeting cards and stationary,local pottery and much, much more.

Tiger's originated as a dry goods store in the late 1800's. Displayed throughout the store are many photos and other memorabilia collected throughout the many years of operation.
