Incorporated in 1683, the Town of Freetown is home to 8,870 residents, as of 2010. The Town is located in southeastern Massachusetts, bordering the cities of New Bedford and Fall River, in addition to the Towns of Lakeville, Berkley, Rochester, Dartmouth and Somerset. The Town is perhaps best known for the Freetown State Forest, which includes Profile Rock.
