John "Jack" Schafer, founder of Toyota Walnut Creek was a WWII guerilla fighter, an international business entrepreneur and an avid sailor. In 1970 he founded Toyota Walnut Creek in Walnut Creek, California. Toyota Walnut Creek now sells over 4,000 vehicles a year and has won numerous awards both from Toyota as well as from other agencies for general performance, green business practices, and consumer satisfaction.

The legacy of Toyota Walnut Creek began 45 years ago. Since 1970, Toyota Walnut Creek has sold over 100,000 new and used cars and has serviced over 2.7 million vehicles.
