More about TP Total Performance

TP Total Performance is the only Microgate certified facility in the Westchester/Putnam area - allowing our clients the option of having worldclass biomechanical evaluations using OptoGait technology performed on them during the course of their training. These evaluations objectively measure the individual's ability to perform a variety of movements and allow our trainers to build a customized program specific to their needs so that optimal performance can be reached while preventing unnecessary injury. Our body accumulates imbalances from play, aging, and simple everyday movement. These imbalances gradually lead to injury. This process can sometimes be dramatic and easily identified, such as a twisted ankle or limp. For most, however, this gradual accumulation of imbalances is very slow and difficult to recognize. Now for the first time, with the aid of 21st century OptoGait technology, we can help solve this problem. By taking a simple 5 minute walk on a treadmill at slow speeds, imbalances can be identified and easily corrected with movement. This is the only facility in the area that can fixes the compensatory process before adding training. Trainers everywhere fail to correctly identify and fix weaknesses before implementing training programs. Building strength on top of weakness can only temporarily improve performance before the imbalances become so great that injury occurs. We precisely quantitatively measure underlying mechanical inefficiencies to target any problematic areas. With this information, we can develop the right exercises to properly address the patients specific needs. After every test, the patients information is recorded and saved in their OptoGait profiles so that comparison of results can be made across periods of time. This allows the patient to see what improvements are being made, and so we can adjust their program so that the most problematic areas are constantly being addressed effectively.
