Truong Chiropractic

Dr. Lawrence Truong has been practicing chiropractic for over 12 years and has had a longstanding passion for helping patients and their overall healthcare. Even before his scientific studies in college, Dr. Truong knew he wanted to help people and so he became a volunteer at the Veterans' Administration hospital in La Jolla, California in 1993. He went on to study both biology and psychology at the University of California, at San Diego to pursue his dream of being involved in health care. While a student, he began to suffer from debilitating headaches and was treated with prescription medication, but did not find relief, only severe side effects from the drugs he was given, which inhibited his studies. As a senior in college, he visited a chiropractor, and for the first time in four years, experienced lasting relief from his headaches, without the need of medication.

His own experience with chiropractic changed his academic direction, and he discontinued the research in the Neuroscience department that he had been involved in at the UCSD Medical School, to take a year off to work with a chiropractor. From that comprehensive experience, Dr.Truong was introduced to the chiropractic philosophy of “health care”; that overall health can be continually created and maintained by working to reduce mental, physical, and chemical stress in the body, so that the body can repair itself. This philosophy that he discovered through his own health experience, and through his experience as a practitioner, shaped his philosophy for the future as chiropractor and eventually as a practice owner.

Dr. Truong graduated with a bachelors degree in both biology and psychology from UC San Diego in 1998 and then enthusiastically went on to study chiropractic at the esteemed Southern California University of Health and Science. He received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2002. After completing his internship at San Diego Chiropractic Group, Dr. Truong was an associate chiropractor at Scripps Chiropractic Clinic and San Diego Chiropractic Doctors, before joining Dr. Daniel Govenar to form Whole Health Chiropractic in 2005.

In his spare time, Dr. Truong enjoys playing tennis and spending time with his wife and son.
