More about Twin Rivers Police Department

The primary mission of the Twin Rivers Unified School District Police Department (TRPD) is Protecting Our Future by inspiring each student to extraordinary achievement every day by ensuring a safe and secure environment for all of our students, staff and community.

The Twin Rivers District Police Department is located in Sacramento Californina. TRPD has statewide authority but its primary responcibility is to provide police services to the Twin Rivers Unified School District. It also provides police services to Center Unified School District as well as Elverta Joint Elementary School District. Our schools and sites are spread out over approximately 120 square miles within 3 counties (Sacramento, Placer and Sutter).

The southern border includes the River District of Downtown Sacramento near the old rail yards; the western border goes past Interstate 5 and up towards the Sacramento International Airport; the northern border goes towards Pleasant Grove and includes Placer and Sutter Counties; and the north eastern and eastern borders includes southwest Roseville and Citrus Heights. This includes but is not limited to the communities of Downtown Sacramento, North Sacramento, Woodlake, Hagginwood, Del Paso Heights, Natomas, Rio Linda, Elverta, Antelope, Roseville, Citrus Heights, North Highlands, Foothill Farms, McClellan, Arden Fair, Carmichael, Arden Arcade and more.

TRPD is granted the same statewide peace officer authority as county sheriff's departments, city police departments and the highway patrol. All Police Officers have the same minimum hiring, background and training requirements as mandated by the State of California Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) Commission. All Police Officers must complete a POST certified basic police academy.
