Urban Sprout Farms

We are a Certified Organic Urban Farm. We farm using permaculture and biodynamic techniques and philosophies. Biodynamic farmers- bio=life, dynamic=energy. Permaculture is a the developments of permanent agricultural ecosystems that are designed to be self sufficient and sustainable. Basically creating hyper-effective and efficient close loop systems.

Our relationship with agriculture is based on techniques that have consistently proven to; build environments that produce plants with high nutrient density and high production yield with no negative impact on the natural environment.

We are engaging the community, farming in harmony with nature, reducing green waste to landfills and producing high quality food.

Our philosophies and practices are focused to heal nature by healing and enhancing the biodiversity of our community. For Example: Water, our most important resource it our main focus. We plan on capturing, harvesting and bioremediation water. We have programmed our space to collect the maximum amount of run-off water and direct it into future living creek and pond systems in a recalculating zero waste system.

What is unique about this is that as biodynamic agriculture methods farmers we: Make our own Compost with added beneficial herbs, flowers and fungi for remediation of urban green waste. Make our own soil amendments and liquid fertilizers from our own compost. We also grow vegetables from seed. We plant, cultivate and harvest on days correlating to the moon cycles and ideal conditions for plant types. We share and partner with other farmers for: exchanging farmer insights, crops, seeds and raw material. We will provide community involvement and produce fresh food for our community.

Unfortunately our culture has been conditioned to accommodate the convenience shopper, fast quick packaged has been a model for years. Our slower production yields a higher quality of food.

Our success is warranted in the demand for our products. Not only do community patrons want our produce, as well as, many local restaurants, schools and organizations have all expresses a desire for our produce.
