More about Utah CNA Training Centers

Utah CNA Training Centers is owned by TAC Educational Services, Inc. The school was founded in 2007 by Terri Holland, as a way to train CNA’s for her home health agency, and classes were delivered in a small back room training area in the office. No more than 12-15 students would fit. This is a far cry from the five locations we have today in Logan, Clearfield, Salt Lake City, Murray and Orem and more opening soon. Today we train more CNA’s than any other privately owned school – often more than 2,000 a year! Of course this kind of commitment to CNA education makes us experts in the area and we love what we bring to students to ensure their success. As Terri delved into CNA education she found she loved meeting students, helping students find meaningful employment and watching as they made changes in their personal lives that supported their families and their happiness.

B-Corp-collage-300x224In 2014, Terri worked with P3 Utah, a local non-profit dedicated to promoting triple bottom line success to help establish a new kind of corporation in Utah. Benefit Corporation status is a way to help businesses to focus on social and environmental concerns and as well as profitability. Benefit Corporations are legal in 20 states.

On May 13, 2014 Utah became the 20th state that established the Benefit Corporation status in Utah. It is with pride that we announce that Utah CNA Training Centers as a former dba of Wasatch CNA Centers, Inc. is THE first legal Benefit Corporation in Utah. For more information on the signing of the bill, what it means in Utah go to http://csctransactionwatch.com/utah-sb-133-signed-by-the-governor-enacted-a-benefit-corporation-act/. This act demonstrates our commitment to our community and to the premise that business should be a force for good.

This is why we are engaged in a constant aim to improve the quality of our programs, to expand their availability and to flexible, affordable and responsive to the needs of our students and the employers who hire them. This has led to a host of innovations you can’t find in any other school and include:

A human cadaver labCNA training human anatomy cadaver allowing CNA’s the opportunity of a lifetime to examine a real human body in its most vulnerable form. This is usually reserved for medical and nursing school students and most participants say it is amazing, life-affirming, sacred and educational.

CNA and Phlebotomy often go hand-in-hand particularly if you want to work in a hospital. Our course is 40-hours long – five weeks and is only $295. You can’t beat the price or find better quality. Aphlebotomy[1]nd employers love cross-trained employees. Students who enroll in the phlebotomy course while enrolled in a CNA program save another $45 making the class only $250. Compare this with other program costs to see how much value Utah CNA Training Centers brings to our students.

The CNA/ESL combination class helps Spanish speaking students learn both the language of medicine in English but also CNA skills so they can take and pass the state exams.

The Utah CNA Compassion Corps provides students and graduates opportunities to engage in their field and in the community; learning new skills, meeting new people. and adding to their resume a host of activities that enhance their employability. Utah CNA Training Centers is founded on the principle that volunteerism is a way of life, or should be. Helping others is often the best way to help ourselves.

A student scholarship fund was begun in February of 2016 in partnership with myCNAjobs.com. Hundreds of low income students will now be able to attend school

Our Preferred Employers group is comprised of great local employers of CNA’s. Their commitment to quality patient care and a positive work environment helps our graduates begin satisfying careers in health care.
