Victoria County Juvenile Services, under the direction of the Texas Juvenile Justice Department, the Victoria County Juvenile Board, and Chief Juvenile Probation Officer Pama Hencerling, serves both pre-adjudicated and post-adjudicated youth between the ages of 10-17. In addition to the many community-based programs offered by the department, we also operate a 36 bed detention center and 36 bed post-adjudication residential facilities. We also have a specialized program for females and pregnant female offenders which is offered in a secure setting.
Juvenile Services staff provides not only supervision to the juvenile but numerous programs and services to the juveniles and their families. Some of the programs include: early intervention/prevention programs, anger management, parenting skills, mentoring, life skills, substance abuse education, community service restitution/service projects, Why Try and Thinking for a Change to name a few. Juvenile Services also partners with local agencies in Victoria County that share a philosophy to ensure a continuum of care to the juveniles we serve.
