Vintique Designs is the product of a long-term friendship, a love of sewing and a passion for All Things Vintage!

We now have a booth at The Vintage Peddler, 1432 E Trafficway, Springfield, MO. 65802!!

We're happy to announce that we have fallen in love with American Girl dolls will be offering unique, one-of-a-kind dresses, coats, and outfits ~ sometimes with a vintage twist~ for American Girl dolls! We have designed many of our own pieces for dolls, usually a custom order, and offer them here when available;
We also enjoy making up the traditional patterns for AG dolls~ you never know what dolly things we will offer! Custom orders are welcome!

Our goal in designing handbags and totes is to create a practical and exciting bag that you'll love each and every time you pick it up. Vintage fabrics are our avenue to bring the past lives of things we love into the present, into daily use instead of being hidden away in a drawer.

While Barkcloth is our favorite vintage fabric, we use mainly cotton fabrics woven with a variety of textures - nubby, diamond, waffle weave, twill, and linen - with chenille a close second.
Our fabrics were originally curtains, upholstery and home linens from the 1930's to the 1960's; bright colorful patterns including florals, tropicals, nature scenery, chinoseries (oriental),
novelty, and abstract or modern (Eames era) are all experiencing a rebirth in today's market.

Our practical designs feature easy access, durability and easy care & cleaning. A large hidden pocket and decorative patch pockets keep small items accessible. Prior to assembly, all materials have been soaked (to re-invigorate fibers), and washed & dried to assure items will not shrink or colors fade. Fabrics are then reinforced with fusible interfacing or quilter's fleece. We choose the best vintage laces, trims, crochet pieces, or vintage buttons so each piece will have our trademark "WOW!" factor. Each handbag is crafted to be a One-of-a-kind Keepsake, not just another bag that gets thrown out as fashions change.

About us: Linda Blaker first learned to sew as a teenager, desiring to wear all the latest Carnaby Street fashions (~think Beatles, London & 1965~), and is currrently a Fur Finisher for a local Furrier, as well as the Grandmother of 12.
Ruth Tickner learned to sew as a child, under instruction of her Grandmother, made her own clothes at the age of 13, and was designing for others at age 17. Ruth has 6 Grandchildren, and currently has worked as a Paralegal for 15 years.

Ruth & Linda have been friends and creative collaborators since 1971...and began VintiqueDesigns in 2004, at the request of many local friends & acquaintances who admired their vintage fabric handbags, cottage decor pillows, whimsical Lavender Sachets, and adorable Pillowcase dresses, all originally created for family & friends!
